Book description (100 words)
Toronto knew Donnie P. before it knew what to make of him: a developer who put his name on towers, shook hands with politicians, and moved through the city as though it partly belonged to him. His niece Stefanie knew someone else entirely: an uncle with a storybook across his knees, who was there for every birthday and never missed a Sunday. Donnie P. is the story of what happens when those two lives finally meet, and of the morning Toronto woke up to find that the man it thought it knew had vanished.
Author biography (150 words)
At 77, Domenic Parravano, known to many as Donnie P., has lived a life as layered as the story he has always longed to tell. He arrived in Toronto with big dreams and an unshakable drive, and over the decades he watched the city transform, especially its waterfront, into a skyline of possibilities. He did not just watch it happen; he helped build it.
From construction and real estate to music and countless creative pursuits, he has never stopped making things or believing in something larger than himself. Above all he is a family man, and his greatest pride has always been the life he built with and for the people he loves. Donnie P., his first novel, is the one story that has lived inside him the longest.
